You cannot keep #IPL and Controversy away for a long time. Just when fans were happy to see a fair and controversy-less #IPL2016 a controversial comedy of error has surfaced. The man in question is none other than Ravi Shastri.
Match 32, KKR vs KXIP: At the customary toss, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir flipped the coin in air and KXIP captain Murali Vijay called heads.
As the coin landed, the match referee Amit Sharma announced that it was tails, which meant KKR had won the toss.
In a moment of confusion however, the former Team India director declared Murali Vijay as the winner, offering him the first option.
The two captains were clearly taken aback and were left in an awkward position as they shook hands.
Watch the incident yourself and decide:
While several social media users have termed the incident ‘fishy’, there is of course the possibility that Shastri did not hear Vijay clearly due to massive crowd at Eden Gardens. What do you feel?
It’s Virat Kohli’s Dream to reach as close to his idol Sachin Tendulkar. Well, not in International Cricket but he has managed to achieve it in #IPL9 as a captain.
Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore became the 1st captain who has scored over 500 runs in IPL in 3 seasons and while attempting to do so, he broke the record of Sachin, who achieved this feat 2 times, when he was Mumbai Indians’ Captain. In the 2010 edition, Sachin scored 618 runs while in the 2011 edition, he scored 553.
Kohli Needed 67 runs for completing 500 runs in IPL 2016 before the match with Rising Pune Supergiants on Saturday. Virat scored 108 off 58 balls for chasing 192 run target for the team. With this, Kohli also became the 1st captain for scoring 2 hundreds in a season.
So far, Kohli has scored 541 runs in 8 matches. Overall this was the 4th instance wherein Kohli crossed 500 run mark in IPL and 3 times he was captain. He had scored 634 runs in 2013, which is also the highest ever aggregate by a captain in IPL, and 505 runs in 2015 as RCB’s captain. In 2011 as a player, he scored 557 runs.
Gautam Gambhir & David Warner are the two other batsmen who have crossed the 500-run mark in IPL as captains. Gambhir had scored 590 runs to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to their maiden IPL title in 2012, while Warner was the orange cap holder in the last edition with 562 runs in 14 matches.
Everybody knows Chris Gayle is a Champyaan! Well, he might be struggling in #IPL2016 but he’s in full flow on Twitter.
A girl named Arohi(not the one of Aashiqui 2) from Delhi asked Chris Gayle if they can go on a date together. Checkout her tweet
Gayle is not someone who would miss such opportunities, see his reply below:
But the girl was one step ahead, she trolled Gayle on a Condition that is too difficult to be completed by Gayle in #IPL9.
And that ends the short love story.
